The best show ever!!!!!!!!! ♥
I laugh every time is see this show. And I am watching it again for the (I lost the count) time. You become a part of that friends, you are one of them and you feel what they feel, quoting what they're saying. You even wish things went differently every time that something happens between Ross and Rachel. And by all that, every single time I laugh like an idiot at every episode. You got to love this series, forever.
oh friends :( 10 season isn't enough !!
I know most people don't respond well if you say something negative about their favorite show but I can't help it. If you like it I'm glad for you (really) but please allow me my opinion. I am one of those who doesn't think that this is THE best show ever. It's not even the best sitcom in my opinion. It had its moments but not many. Maybe it isn't fair to judge it 25 years after the fact because that is a long time in TV land and things change. But most of the stuff I dislike has nothing to do with timeframe. First, why this is called Friends is beyond me. Those are the most dishonest, selfish, egoistic and sometimes even mean group of people I've seen on TV. They constantly try to withhold stuff and most of the comedic situations spawn from that. I don't see where it is funny to go behind your friends backs. There are those moments where there behave like friends should, but those come usually after they screwed up. Than there is the characters. I've written in some episode's comment that Ross is the most obnoxious character I've ever seen on TV. And I've seen my share. And there is WAY too much of him and Rachel who I also disliked deeply. They pull down every episode they're in which is pretty much every episode. That constant back and forth, the bickering and their pretensious behaviour is so annoying. Joey was funny at first but that wears out fast once you get past 50 episodes. Very one-dimensional. I don't even know what to say about Chandler because he is that bland. Monica went from "I don't care" through "I kinda like her" but ultimately annoying. Phoebe I liked until she, too, got the I-need-to-marry virus. Until that she was honest in that she didn't care what others thought about her and just made her thing. Alltogether there was little character developement in any of them. I couldn't connect with them and was more interested in what guest stars might turn up next. And what it is anyway with all the girls need to find guys to marry and get babies and the guys needing to score? It is a good thing there wasn't any social media available because with all those gay and trans jokes there would have probably been a lot of heat. That laughing track is way over the top. It accompanied literally every sentence. It even ruined jokes by starting to early. And what is wrong with building up an emotional moment and going through with it instead of ruining it with a bad joke ? So, why did I watch, and even complete, it ? It's simple. And I mean that in the true sense of the word. You don't have to pay close attention to the plot, f.e. you don't have to stop it if the phone rings, you can even skip an episode completely. It's like having a radio playing in the background. Sometimes reading the synopsis was as interesting as the actual episode. Let's be honest: continuity, logic and depth of story were not the trademarks of Friends. It is full of holes and errors. But it fitted my daily schedule. I could drop in a couple of episodes here and there. And I punished myself a little bit because I went out and bought the whole series at once. Had I watched the first season first I would stopped there and then. This is the longest review I've written in a while which shows I thought about this show a lot. I like versitality, it would be boring if every show was the same. That doesn't stop me though from speaking my mind. This is a love or hate kind of show. I don't hate it as such. But there were only just one or two episodes a season I think were more than average. It became better towards the end (either that or I caved) but it was an effort to get through and I am glad I'm done with.
Well as I am really close to the last episodes of this show,I can confirm that this show is one of the best series you can ever watch and this one can be classed easily as the best comedy show ever. All the characters are cool and likable and you will love them from the first episode to the last one My favorite shows comes in this order: 1-Breaking Bad 2-Game of thrones 3-Friends <3
The first three seasons is where it's at, after that it becomes formulaic. Characters become caricatures of themselves which is disappointing. In saying that though, the cast have such a great dynamic together. Friends is really easy to watch, which for me has ultimately become it's drawback, as I've seen the episodes too many times. I find myself getting annoyed with the characters now more often than I did 10 years ago, which has altered my perception of the show. Seinfeld's strength is Friends' weakness, given Seinfeld has no overarching storyline (with minor references in some episodes to past episodes), the episodes become standalone, giving Seinfeld the unparalleled advantage on focusing purely on the characters and their nuances in certain situations.
What can you say about "Friends"? A show that after all these years is still on TVs and streaming platforms all over the world. How many times can you watch till you've had enough? I don't think I will ever stop watching it. To me, "Friends" is about the friends I would really like to have, in a timeline much simpler than the one we currently are.
I've seen several random episodes as a kid but never completed the series. Now I'm finally going through all of it, and I absolutely love the series and its humour.
This show never gets old! No matter how often you watch the episodes, they're always funny :)
This show makes me really happy whenever I've watched it
If you want see how white people were in 1994, this is the show to watch. Haha.
I saw this show when it originally aired. It has its moments and was a cultural touchstone during the later 90s. With that said, the show really doesn't hold up well - compared to say Seinfeld. Both show a similar side of New York, although the latter is more grounded in reality - showing interactions with the different socioeconomic classes of NYC. Unlike Friends, which almost exclusively seems to paint a picture of NYC as a city where only white affluent people live & where money seems to never be a problem. Ignoring that they seem to have considerable amount of free time and wealth to spend, the show had its moments but became extremely repetitive.
This show is pretty much the essential American sitcom. Its incredibly funny but has some really meaningful moments too. I can't say I always liked every character, but I came to realize that part of the point is to be realistic and you can't like everyone the entire time. The real thing preventing this show from being a true 10 is the obscene number of clip episodes (episodes consisting of over 90% old episode clips). If it weren't for those annoying reuses of old clips, I would happily say this is probably the best sitcom to have graced the American television. I've probably learned more about how to approach friendship and life from this show than anyone else, now I just need to get off the TV and get out there .
Dunder Mifflin Paper Company might sound like any other paper company, but it is far from that. The awkward jokes and prank wars will have you laughing for hours, plus the friendships and romance that evolves will make you unable to look away from the screen. I especially like that every episode is a little over 20 minutes, so everything happens so fast and there’s always some trouble lurking just around the corner.
Jane the Virgin
Because Jane got artificially inseminated, even though she already vowed to wait until marriage, everything turns to chaos in this Latino family. She then has to choose between her wonderful boyfriend and her baby daddy who has it all: dashing good looks, a big hotel that he owns, but also a wife. The amount of love, support, girl power, family values, drama and excitement you’ll feel from this American telenovela will make you cry sometimes (okay a lot of times), but it will also most definitely make your heart glow.
A classic that never gets old and shows just how important it is to have great friends. What was a group of acquaintances in the beginning, became a true family later on and is there a better story you could ask for? The characters are very relatable and you could probably find similarities with some of them in your group of friends, the one-liners are fantastic and everything that happens is very true to life, so it never gets boring, not even in the slightest.
Isn’t it great when your favorite TV show has characters from all over the world? A lovely Spanish or a funny Indian accent can always make a show interesting but cultural presentation is what brings awe to the viewers life. I am presenting you with the three best TV shows that will add colors to your to-watch list!
While we celebrated the Pride month just now, why not talk about some awesome TV shows focused on LGBT characters. What if you want to learn about the people at large but you realize that there is no diversity in your close social circles. That’s when a good TV series can enlighten you with the ideas and realities. It can also save you from awkward moments in the real life by providing the right insights.
Because I’m watching so many imaginary scenarios, it’s nice to take a look at things that actually happened every once in a while. The drama from documentaries really feels a lot different than those from series you just know didn’t happen. I love being aware of everything that is or has been going on and Netflix is really great at helping us with that.
